Jazan Wild is a busy man. From comic books to music, Wild does it all. Last year
Wild released his first album, Carnival of Souls, which saw a lot of great
reviews. This year Wild is hoping to do it again with Funhouse of Horrors.
Funhouse of Horrors! might seem like an album you’d only want to listen
to on Halloween but that isn’t the case. Jazan Wild’s latest album is a great
all around album, both with the scary factors he throws into his songs and just
the overall song structure.
Jazan Wild’s Funhouse of Horrors! is a mix between mainstream alternative
rock and Wednesday 13. If you have heard a Wednesday 13 album before then you
know he is an artist that is full of some much life with his music. Wild’s music
is very comparable to that; the same amount of energy is heard on this release.
The album switches between alternative-like tracks to industrial tracks that are
just out there. All of the tracks have something eat about them, if its Jazan
Wild’s voice to some pretty catchy drumming and guitar work. For an artist that
is most known for his comic book work I was really impressed with the album, it
is much better than most of the albums I have heard this year from the
alternative genre.
Final Verdict
This is the sort of album that should give Jazan Wild that extra boost he needs
to get recognized in the music business. Funhouse of Horrors! is a non stop ride
through twelve tracks, ranging from alternative to industrial music. If you are
a fan of anything from Wednesday 13 or the Murderdolls then you better check out
this album right away.
