The Emanuelle series is known for tits and ass. Joe D’Amato goes above and
beyond to give his viewers enough nudity to satisfy single and married men. I
think women even enjoy these movies too. As natural as nudity can be there are
problems with this movie that even Blue Underground lets its viewers know.
For the most part (that I know of) Blue Underground releases the real cuts of
movies. They don’t take anything out and they do their best to find all of those
extra scenes that might have been missing in prior releases of films. When it
comes to Emanuelle in America Blue Underground lets the viewers know about some
graphic sexual scenes.
So wait there is hardcore sex in this movie? You better believe it and you can
find this movie in stores and online! No ID is required kiddies; this movie can
be in your collection even before your parents tell you about the birds and the
bees. Grab the tissues and get a tall glass of Mountain Dew because I am going
to let you know about the truth on Emanuelle in America.
The films plot is stupid and pointless. I know I have said this before but
really who gives a shit about this one. Emanuelle is a New York City
photographer and a detective in sorts. Her adventures take her into a territory
where snuff films are being films and boobs are seen by the blind. With her
secret camera around her neck, Emanuelle is going to do the unthinkable…well the
unthinkable for a softcore porn movie.
Yeah the plot is really that pointless. About 10 minutes into the movie I
stopped caring. When one of the first sequences has a man pulling a gun on
Emanuelle in her car, going on a rampage on her job, and then getting a blow
job, I knew my attention towards the movie was no needed. Trying to give a shit
about this movie will only make you angry.
We all know what snuff movies are but that doesn’t mean Emanuelle in America
won’t refresh your mind. There are scenes in this movie where women are
performing fellatio and even hardcore penetration. Of course these sequences do
not last that long but it is in here, in a series that is all about being soft.
I could talk about the ejaculation scenes too but there is one part in the movie
that makes the ejaculation look like it belongs in a Disney movie. There is a
naked female pleasuring a horse! I am not making this shit up. A woman is
actually stroking a horse and it is shown! The horse sounds happy; trust me that
horse does not shut up.
Number one, I thought that sort of shit is illegal in movies? I guess when it
comes to the Emanuelle series it doesn’t matter. But at least we don’t see the
horse ejaculate, that is we don’t see it. There are rumors that there is a scene
where the horse does ejaculate. This is not shown in this cut of the movie so
who knows if this is a lie or Blue Underground put the brakes on that part of
the film.
Oh yeah there are also scenes of rape, hot liquid being poured on women and
other things that might be best left out. We actually get to see some footage
from snuff films. Either these are real (some say yes) or they were shot pretty
damn well. Regardless this is some pretty sick shit.
Video wise the movie looks good. If I could compare this one with the original
VHS version I could give a much better answer but it is safe to say the DVD
version is a hundred times better. Everything can be seen real well, even those
images from the snuff films and the hardcore penetration.
The audio is just as good. There were some times where I could hear noises from
the film (snaps and pops) but that is pretty common from such an old film
getting put on DVD or even blu-ray.
This DVD features some extras. The 13 minute video interview with Joe D’Amato
talks about French movies and what the French wanted from this movie and other
ones D’Amato has made. The only other special featurette that matters is the one
that explains the Emanuelle franchise. Short and interesting but not worth the
DVDs purchase.
Final Verdict
I am not going to go on a rampage, saying how this movie is filth. If you want
to see a movie that is completely messed up then buy this DVD and don’t look
back. But if you are looking for a good erotic movie then you have better look
else where since this one will only make you vomit.

+ The beginning of the movie is a real movie that isn’t half
bad.
- Once the horse sequence starts the film is all down hill.
