Zombie BBQ? What in the world is a zombie bbq? Little Red Riding Hood is a well renown fairytale all star. Putting her against zombies seems a little strange but with a title like this developer EnjoyUp might have found the perfect way to boost sales.

Little Red Riding Hood’s Zombie BBQ pretty much sums up everything that is good about video games. Our heroine is a sexy Little Red Ride Hood and she uses a wide range of weapons, from pistols to grenades. She does come equipped with two massive weapons from the start, but I’ll let you wonder what those weapons might be.

Zombies are always great in video games and in this one they are still great. Throughout this crazy game you will shoot at zombies from Grandma’s House to the North Pole. There are a lot of stages in this game that are very familiar; it honestly feels like you are playing a game made by bastard employees from Disney.

The game has a great old school soundtrack to it. Little Red Riding Hood also speaks to the crowd at a few occasions, from the games title screen to the different weapons you use when fighting zombies. Zombie BBQ feels a lot like an old school game and the gameplay also feels the same as well.

This game has a unique style of gameplay. Both screens are used and players and choose if they want to use the stylus or the buttons on your Nintendo DS (perfect). I found it easier to use the stylus myself.

Zombie BBQ has your character, either Little Red Riding Hood or Momo Taro, locked on the bottom of the bottom touch screen. Hordes of zombies are forward and you are left shooting them. If you take a look at the time of the screen you can actually kill the zombies before they reach you. At times the gameplay will become a bit too much, just like games on the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo.

It would have been nice to see check points in the game. Whenever you die you’ll have to start over and trust me this will happen more than you think. Boss battles are at least better, mainly since they act as their own stage.

Once you beat Zombie BBQ you will find yourself looking for more. There isn’t too much after the game is complete. At only $20 you really can’t complain too much, everything more would have just made the game that much better though.

Final Verdict
Budget Nintendo DS games can either be fantastic or the worst games ever created. In this case Little Red Riding Hood’s Zombie BBQ is terrific. For only $20 you get the gameplay of old school games, something that is lost in most modern games. If you can find this game then pick it up, zombie fans should make this game a mandatory purchase.
