Mountain Dew DEWmocracy
Reviewer: Eric
Earlier this year Mountain Dew released a web page where people could create
their own Mountain Dews. If you took the time to go through this site you would
have found an adventure in the form of beverages and flash coding. The top three
choices were picked and now it’s up to use to pick the best one.
The idea of picking the next Mountain Dew is a neat idea, but we have to pick
the best one. This is really a hard decision because each of these flavors are
unique, something we haven’t really seen in sodas before. Knowing we have the
power to pick the next flavor is tough, but I will do my best to help you out
with this process.
Revolution (Wild Berry)
If you have ever been to Taco Bell then you have already tried this flavor.
Revolution is basically Baja Blast, but there are some minor differences.
The colors are different; Revolution is on the clear/blue side while Baja Blast
is more on the light blue side. Both of there tastes are alike, however
Revolution has a less carbonated taste and it seems to taste weak at times.
Supernova (Strawberry Melon)
This flavor tastes like a strawberry soda, if there have been any. I haven’t had
a strawberry soda before, but other strawberry drinks have a similar taste to
this one. Even the pinkish color is very flattering.
Since I am not a huge strawberry fan I was worried about trying this flavor. It
turns out the strawberry isn’t too overwhelming at all, it has a nice hint of
flavoring. I can’t say I taste any real melon in here, if there is any then the
strawberry is overpowering it a lot.
Voltage (Raspberry Citrus)
Finally the last flavor is known as Voltage. Out of all the three flavors this
one is by far the most unique. Raspberry inside of a soda? Oh it’s true and it
is damn good.
Remember those blue icy drinks you can get at either movie theaters or
department stores? Voltage tastes just like those. The raspberry flavoring is
just the same, it almost feels like Pepsi used the same ingredients.
All of these flavors, as far as I know of, come in 12 packs and a 20 ounce
bottle. There might be more ways to pick up these flavors soon, the official
release date is next month. If you are only trying these flavors to pick the
next Mountain Dew then you may want to find the bottles instead of buying a 12
pack.
Final Verdict
Pepsi found a neat idea over here with their Mountain Dew line. The hardest
thing about this contest is picking one favorite, all of these are real good. I
highly recommend trying all three and checking back on the forums for DEWmocracy.
If you feel your flavor is going to loose then you better stack up instead of
paying too much on eBay.
Rating
