It was sort of hard for me to review a product that was in Japanese on the
package. The only thing I could read on this 9 stick pack of gum was Black Black
(there are a few other words on the package that were in English but they didn’t
matter). Black Black doesn’t explain a whole lot on the packaging but when you have a gum that
has a ton of press over a commercial with action superstar Jean Claude Van Damme
there had got to be something good here.
For $2.50 you can enjoy a pack of this caffeinated gum. Black Black Gum is black
in color and it contains ginseng, oolong tea extract and B Vitamins. The B3
Vitamins should please health nuts but oolong tea extract in a gum? It sounds
strange and even after chewing a few pieces it still sounds strange. Still had
strange as that might sound Black Black Gum is really good!
The taste is hard to describe since I haven’t tried anything like it. There was
no bad aftertaste and the unique taste lasted in the double digits for me and
that was only with one stick of gum.
Since I can’t read how much caffeine is in one stick of gum I wasn’t sure what I
was getting myself into. After one stick of gum though, I had almost as much
energy as I get from my favorite energy beverage, a 16 fluid ounce of Full
Throttle. That much energy from one lonely stick of gum? I kid you not; Black
Black Gum is that powerful!
Final Verdict
This review was kept short for a few reasons. For starters I can’t read the
package since it is in Japanese. The other reason, and most importantly, Black
Black Gum is that good. I have never tasted a gum like this before and the
energy level I got, with no crashing at all, is amazing. The $2.50 asking cost
for a pack of gum might seem high at first but once you try your first piece you
will find a gum that you’ll always want to keep handy.

+ The asking cost might seem high but you get more energy
from here than most products.
- Could easily be overlooked due to the price.
