The latest issue of the Avengers: Initiative looks interesting but not in a good way. The description Marvel is giving us doesn't really set the world on fire, though you have to keep in consideration that most Secret Invasion tie-ins are better than the main story.

The final chapter in the Cruel and Unusual storyline in the Daredevil series brings Daredevil and Dakota North to the truth about Big Ben Donovan's death sentence. Things are heating up for this ongoing series, it looks like Daredevil might be a worthy read each month again.

With all the other Secret Invasion tie-ins it looks like Spider-Man might be saving the day. Secret Invasion: Amazing Spider-Man #1 looks great! If it is as good as the previews then there might be hope in these mini series Marvel is releasing for the Secret Invasion.

Also check out Kick-Ass #4 (now slated to be a major motion picture) and Wolverine #68. Words can not explain how good both of these series are, Mark Millar is one of the best writtens in the industry right now.

DC Comics is rushing out the final issue in the Catwoman series. Eric is still upset with this decision, but his numerous emails couldn't save this series. Pick up Catwoman #82 this week if you enjoy good comic books.

There are plenty of other good comic books coming out from DC this week. Could this week be another win for DC Comics on the Review Busters website? It seems that way, but make sure to check back when our reviews are posted.

Final Crisis: Legion of Three World #1 of 5 - The Final Crisis as of late has been making the Secret Invasion look like child’s play. All of the writers have been doing their very best to make the last Crisis storyline shine. Geoff Johns and George Perez are taking helm of the Legion of Three World’s mini series. Part one is already shaping up to be another flawless Final Crisis tie-in.

Goon, The #27 - Eric Powell is mixing things up a little this month with the latest issue in The Goon series. Instead of continuing the ongoing story this issue is broken up into three separate stories, all of which have a different individual telling the story. Is this approach to The Goon series at this point really such a good idea?

Hellboy: The Crooked Man #2 of 3 - Hellboy set the world on fire with the second movie this summer. Fans of the series and newcomers got to experience what Mike Mignola has been creating for years. With The Crooked Man it seems like the perfect opportunity for anyone to jump aboard the Hellboy comic book series. Is issue two in this series worth a peek?

Immortal Iron Fist #17 - A new team is in control of the Immortal Iron Fist series. Duane Swiercynski, Travel Foreman, and Russ Heath are giving it all that got with the first part in The Mortal Iron First storyline. Set to be a four part arc, issue one is building up a story that is hinting at a possible death of Iron Fist.

Ghost Rider #25 - Jason Aaron has had his fair share of problems with the Ghost Rider series. God Don’t Live on Cell Block D welcomed Tan Eng Huat to the front as the new artists but Aaron was still writing the story. Now that the final part in this two story arc is here can Jason Aaron and Tan Eng Huat turn things around?

Amazing Spider-Man #567 - So we left off with Vermin about to kill Peter Parker dressed in a DareDevil costume. All because Ms. Kraven, Lady Kraven, just Kraven, whatever she wants to be called mistook Vin, Peter’s roommate as Spider-Man instead of him. She then kidnapped Vin him at gun point after forcing him to put on the Spider-Man costume from under Peter’s bed. Then decided to pump him full of MGH (Mutant Growth Hormone) and set him lose in the New York sewer system so she could hunt him.

Batgirl #2 of 6 - Adam Beechen and Jim Calafiore amazed Batman Universe fans with the first issue in the Batgirl mini series. The story was perfect for the return of Cassandra Cain character. With the second issue in the series it looks like things are taking a turn for the worse.

Young X-Men #5 - The Young X-Men is a series that started out when Divided We Stand started out. This series has never been worth while; Marc Guggenheim can’t seem to write a good story for this new team of mutants. In the last issues of the New Genesis storyline it seems things have gotten worse.

Uncanny X-Men #501 - Ed Brubaker and Matt Fraction didn’t exactly set the world on fire with the 500th issue of the Uncanny X-Men. Last months issue was supposed to be a new beginning and all it did was bore us with lame non X-Men stories. Can the latest issue make us forget what happened in July?

Robin #177 - The start of a new Robin story arc means a new team helming the project. Both Fabian Nicieza and Freddie Williams II are hoping to make this post Batman R.I.P. story worthy of only great things. Is Search for a Hero what we are looking for in Robin or is this story just not going according to plan?

X-Factor #34 - Boredom can not describe how awful the current He Loves You storyline line is. Instead of having the X-Factor deal with all three parts in this story, She-Hulk saw the second part in this story and it was great. So how come the third and final part is worse than last month’s issue?

Hack/Slash #15 - Two Hack/Slash comic books in one month? This is not an error; Tim Seeley and Emily Stone are bringing back Cassie and Vlad for another dose of their serial killer bashing ways. Instead of finding the next killer on the block these two are now coming face to face with H.P. Lovecraft’s Re-Animator.

Punisher #60 - The end of Garth Ennis's legacy on the Punisher series comes to an end with the sixth part in the Valley Forge, Valley Forge story. See what Kevin has to say about this issue.

Spawn #181 - Spawn is one of those comic book characters that has gone to hell in recent memory. When this character first came onto the scene 1992 the comic book industry was in shock. Not only was the art amazing, but the story was more violent than some R rated movies. With a track record like that is it safe to pick up this series again?

Secret Invasion #5 of 8 - Brian Michael Bendis and Leinil Francis Yu are trying to make the Secret Invasion the best storyline that the Marvel Universe has ever seen. The series has shared its fair share of both ups and downs. With the main story coming in an end in three months can Bendis and Yu pull out a flawless victory?
